The three packs
Every pack can also hold a skeleton for the dig site, and XL and rare packs add excavation tools.
| Pack | Cards | Price | Skeleton chance | Bonus tools |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 5 | 120 DNA | 6% | — |
| XL | 10 | 220 DNA | 12% | +1 |
| Rare | 5 | 500 DNA | 20% | +2 |
Card odds by rarity
Each card in a standard or XL pack is drawn on its own with the odds below: 50% Common down to 1% Mythic. A rare pack draws its first card from the Epic, Legendary and Mythic table, and its other 4 cards from the boosted table.
| Rarity | Standard and XL packs | Rare pack, other cards | Rare pack, guaranteed card |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 50% | 20% | — |
| Uncommon | 30% | 22% | — |
| Rare | 11% | 27% | — |
| Epic | 5% | 18% | 80% |
| Legendary | 3% | 9% | 16% |
| Mythic | 1% | 4% | 4% |
Which creature you get
Once a card’s rarity is drawn, every creature of that rarity is equally likely. There are 40 Common creatures and 4 Mythic ones, for 180 in all packs.
Season pass exclusives and the creatures of legend you hatch from fossils never appear in packs.
The Epic guarantee
If you open 9 packs in a row without an Epic, Legendary or Mythic card, the first card of the next pack is guaranteed to be Epic or better, with the same odds as the rare pack’s guaranteed card (80% Epic, 16% Legendary, 4% Mythic).
The count covers every pack you open, free or bought, and starts again whenever you get an Epic or better card.
Skeleton odds
After its cards, each pack may hold a skeleton: 6% for a standard pack, 12% for an XL pack and 20% for a rare pack. If 29 packs in a row bring none, the next one always does.
A skeleton’s rarity decides how many bones it has and which creatures can hatch from it:
| Rarity | Chance | Bones | Creatures that can hatch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 30% | 4 | 4 |
| Uncommon | 25% | 4 | 4 |
| Rare | 20% | 5 | 4 |
| Epic | 14% | 5 | 3 |
| Legendary | 8% | 6 | 3 |
| Mythic | 3% | 7 | 2 |
